Pale blue dot for the beauty of Miranda. The Italian band unveils the lead single from their debut album: a shoegaze dream of light and vertigo, crumbling into mystery.

On Friday, 9 May 2025, the Italian shoegaze/wave/indie rock band Pale Blue Dot releases For the Beauty of Miranda, the lead single from their upcoming debut album (h)eart(h), due on 6 June.

Inspired by the cult film ’Picnic at Hanging Rock’ (Peter Weir, 1975), For the Beauty of Miranda is a track that enchants and unsettles in equal measure. The most luminously pop moment on the record opens with layered, dreamlike soundscapes before cracking open the surface of reality. Miranda dances in the light – but beneath the grace, something trembles. The relentless rhythm and suspended atmosphere gradually darken, as if the mountain that swallows her were an ancient stone womb, a place of disorientation and metamorphosis.

With its hazy psychedelia, shoegaze reverberations and intense cinematic pull, For the Beauty of Miranda tells a tale of beauty and dissolution, attraction and disappearance. It offers a perfect introduction to the world of (h)eart(h) – an album that blends personal and cosmic vision, emotional and environmental reflection, spirituality and matter.

Co-produced with Gianluca Lo Presti (Nevica) at LotoStudio in Ravenna (Italy), the single, like the album, is a digital self-release, from 6 June also on CD.
Highly recommended for fans of Cocteau Twins, Ride, The Church, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and all sonic worlds where melancholy, wonder and vertigo entwine.

Pale Blue Dot

Formed between Bologna and Ferrara (Italy) in 2015, Pale Blue Dot found their current identity in 2018 with members from Zeder and Staré Město. The line-up features Tommaso Lampronti (vocals and guitars), Enrico Bongiovanni (guitars), Cosimo Tanzarella (bass) and Francesco D’Astore (drums). The band takes its name from Carl Sagan’s famous definition of the Earth as a ‘pale blue dot’, inspired by the photograph taken by Voyager 1 in 1990 from six billion kilometres away. This cosmic reference shapes their artistic vision, where suspended atmospheres and psychedelic currents intertwine.

Their debut single Destruction or Resurrection was released in December 2022 alongside a fully self-produced animated video created frame-by-frame using experimental AI tools. The track ends with a quote from Carl Sagan, reinforcing the connection between music and a poetic view of the universe. In November 2023, they released Green Fairy Tale, accompanied by a video directed by Alessandro Fusto, set between a deserted mountain village and contemporary urban landscapes.

The debut album (h)eart(h) arrives on 6th June 2025, exploring a sonic landscape rich in psychedelia, shoegaze and cosmic resonance, and confirming the band’s visionary identity.
