The new song explores the internal tension between resistance and acceptance, moving from emotional turbulence toward a quiet sense of clarity.

Rather than following a linear narrative, the track unfolds in cycles — doubt, overwhelm, reflection — eventually resolving into a restrained sense of release. The idea that each day offers the possibility of starting again runs through both its lyrical and sonic structure.
Musically, the band build an immersive soundscape of spiralling guitars, drifting synth textures and hypnotic rhythms that evoke a constant sense of movement and instability. Recorded at Funkhaus (Berlin) with Jonathan Dreyfus, ‘Some Kind Of Pure State’reflects a period of transformation following the band’s relocation from Australia to Europe. While not a conceptual record, it revolves around themes such as love, addiction and political instability, approached through a more emotional and atmospheric lens.
The result is a more focused and intentional body of work that retains the band’s immersive identity while refining its structure and direction.

Formed in Byron Bay (Australia) in 2020, THE DHARMA CHAIN have operated without a fixed hierarchy, shaping their sound collectively. Their music sits somewhere between neo-psychedelia, krautrock, shoegaze and post-punk, built on layered guitars, diffuse vocals and an increasingly solid rhythmic foundation.
Following their debut ‘Nowhere’ (2022, Anomic Records) and the single “See Through” (2025, Spinda Records), the band have toured extensively across Europe, the US and Australia, performing at festivals such as South by Southwest (US), Fusion (DE), Sharpe (SK), Sound Isidro (ES), Fuzz Club Fest (NL) and Duna Jam(IT). This year they continue their live run with appearances at Desertfest and Raut Oak Fest (DE), and Brighton Psych Fest and Manchester Psych Fest (UK).
