Φαίνεται πως δεν έφτανε ο χαμός του συζύγου της Rene Angelil, από την ανίατη ασθένεια του καρκίνου για την χρονιά του 2016, αλλά έπρεπε λίγες ημέρες μετά, να ακολουθήσει και του αδερφού της Daniel Dion, από την ίδια ασθένεια.
Σε ηλικία 59 ετών, άφησε την τελευταία του πνοή o Daniel , αφήνοντας πίσω του δυο ανήλικα παιδιά ηλικίας 14 & 9 ετών αντίστοιχα. Δυστυχώς ο καρκίνος είχε ήδη κάνει μετάσταση σε λαιμό, γλώσσα και κεφάλι.
Surrounded by his loving family, Daniel Dion, older brother to Celine and eighth child of Thérèse and Adhémar Dion, passed away peacefully at the age of 59 years old.
After a long battle with cancer, Daniel leaves to mourn his mother Thérèse Tanguay-Dion; his daughters Valérie (Patrick Goyette) and Marie-Michelle; his grandchildren Matis and Laurianne (Valérie); his brothers and sisters Denise (Yvon Dodier), Clément (Denise Dumont), Claudette (Serge Gaudet), Liette (Guy Poirier), Michel (Danièle Corbeil), Louise (Pierre Tremblay), Jacques (Geneviève Garceau), Ghislaine (Jacques Talbot), Linda (Alain Sylvestre), Manon, Paul, Pauline (Marc Martel) and Céline; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23rd from 2:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-10:00 pm at Salon Charles Rajotte in Repentigny. Funeral services will be held at St-Simon-et-Jude Church in Charlemagne a few days thereafter.
His final days were spent in the care of the staff and volunteers at the palliative care centre Maison Adhémar-Dion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the centre would be appreciated.
The family requests that in honour of their brother’s memory, their privacy be respected in this time of grief.
