Afternoiz.gr continues eastwards and specifically to the neighbouring country, Turkey. Symphonic Death metallers Septic Flesh along with their fellow Doom/death metallers On Thorns I Lay will be in Istanbul on February 16th, 2024, for a unique live show. The former are coming off a successful tour in Central and Latin America and a bunch of summer festivals. The latter recently performed in two cities in Romania and left an excellent impression.
They have released albums that will be remembered for many years to come.
No introductions are needed. Septic Flesh are one of the most historical death metal bands of our country, with a lot of European and worldwide tours. They have released albums that will be remembered for many years to come. What can anyone say about the magnificent “Esoptron”, “The Ophidian wheel” and “A fallen temple”. The great and experimental “Revolution DNA” and the worthy of their glorious past “Communion”, “The great mass”, “Titan” και “Codex Omega”. The amazing “Modern Primitive” that left us speechless. As well as not to forget the beautiful “Mystic places of dawn” and the insurmoutable “Summerian Daemons”. An album that i dont think they will ever top. They dominated the world with this.
Yes, the Athenians On Thorns I Lay are not newcomers.
On Thorns I Lay, on the other hand, has been around for many years. They have released ten full lenth albums, with the last and self titled one surprised us, which is what “Threnos” did. You can read my recent review on this album here.
Yes, the Athenians On Thorns I Lay are not newcomers. Great works of atmospheric death metal were released in the first years of their career. I can write for long time about “Sounds of beautiful experience”, “Orama” and “Crystal tears”. Afterwards came the experimental “Future narcotic”, “Angel dust” and “Egocentric”. Very good and enjoyable works. After the last one, they took a long break and came back with the wonderful “Eternal silence” to Doom/Death metal paths. Then they released “Aegean sorrow” and “Threnos”, works that they re-established the band on the scene. Their latest album is the best i have listened to lately. Simple and perfect Doom/Death metal of high standards.
Well, these historic bands of our country will appear on February 16, 2024 at the IF Performance Hall of Besiktas in Istanbul. Afternoiz.gr will be there and will bring you its impressions of what is expected to be a magnificent concert.
