THE MON (Ufomammut): announces ‘Songs of Embrace’, the second part of the ‘Embrace the Abandon’ project; share single and video ‘Incantation‘.
The Mon,
the personal and introspective vision of Urlo — vocalist and bassist of Italian heavy-psychedelic trio Ufomammut, as well as co-founder of the international art collective Malleus Rock Art Lab and the independent label Supernatural Cat — announces ‘Songs of Embrace’, the new chapter in the ‘Embrace the Abandon’ project, due 6 March 2026 via Supernatural Cat.

Following ‘Songs of Abandon’
(2025) — an acoustic, exposed and deeply intimate work — ‘Songs of Embrace’ shifts the project into darker, instrumental territory. Built from ambient textures, ritual repetition and slow-burning tension, the album does not seek resolution. Instead, it expands the emotional language of the project, remaining suspended within it.
Where ‘Songs of Abandon’ confronted loss and surrender, ‘Songs of Embrace’ focuses on presence: on proximity, endurance, and the physical act of staying. The record unfolds as a continuous suite rather than a collection of songs, embracing slowness, repetition and unease. It moves like a body in motion — contracting, erupting, withdrawing — resisting comfort and closure.

Urlo describes the album as a unified form rather than a sequence of tracks:
«‘Songs of Embrace’ was conceived more like a work of classical music, a suite: different parts unfolding into one another, each continuing from the previous one, finding meaning only as a whole. For this reason, choosing individual tracks to represent the album is difficult. The pieces are deeply interconnected, like embraces — some bring comfort, others carry pain. These compositions are meant to be listened to in one continuous breath, allowing yourself to be held, rocked, and sometimes pushed away, just like in an embrace.»
The first single, ‘Incantation’, introduces the record while acting as a threshold between the two chapters:
«‘Incantation’ was the first piece I chose to introduce ‘Songs of Embrace’. It acts as a bridge to the previous record: a repeating guitar pattern that, like a spell, slowly unfolds through layers of sound and reverb, opening the path into the album’s inner journey.»
‘Songs of Embrace’ is an immersive work — not a destination, but a state to remain within.
Following the release of the new album, Urlo will perform as The Mon across parts of Europe on tour with Kariti from March 18th through May 5th.

BIOGRAPHY
The Mon is the solo project of Urlo, vocalist and bassist of Ufomammut, as well as co-founder of the international art collective Malleus Rock Art Lab and the independent label Supernatural Cat.
While Ufomammut explore vast, cosmic soundscapes, The Mon delves into more intimate and spiritual territory, moving through hypnotic darkness and cathartic visions. Following the debut album ‘Doppelben’ (2018, Supernatural Cat) and the EP ‘My Rotten Heart’ (2021) with CHVE (Amenra), in 2023 he released his second album ‘Eye’, featuring guests such as Steve Von Till (Neurosis), Colin H. Van Eeckhout (Amenra), Sarah Pendleton (Subrosa, The Otolith), and David W. (White Hills).
