Conceptualized during a prolific period of writing for front man Nima Walker, Hillsboro‘s single “sleep dealrrr”, available July 24th, is a poignant addition to their growing catalog. The second single from their upcoming EP White Trash, “sleep dealerrr” was initially planned to be included on Hillsboro’s 2023 debut, however after an intensive run of live performances the group soon realized they were working on what would be their next step. On “sleep dealrrr” Hillsboro delivers on their signature blend of grit and vulnerability, but expands it into something far more natural and immersive.

Informed by the volatile energy of their live performances, the song embodies this transformative period for the group. With swaths of distorted violins and noise laden guitar parts, it’s Walker’s impassioned vocal performance that provides the song its undeniable emotional backbone.

Releasing via play dead on August 23rd, White Trash was recorded over a series of short sessions. The EP exudes relentless energy, often teetering on the brink of chaos. Despite the tumultuous instrumentation and fervent performances, the EP maintains sharp focus. In 2024 Hillsboro will embark on their second stint of US touring from August 31st to September 23rd with dates soon to be announced.
Hillsboro’s music blends early 90’s shoegaze with an infectious rhythm section. Haunting violin, and frontman Nima Walker’s plaintive vocals, creating a balance between nostalgia and originality. Lauded as the best live act in their local scene (The Zone 91.3). They’ve shared stages with Winona Forever, Pink Mountaintops and Diamond Cafe as well as toured the Western United States in the Autumn of 2023.
Their self-titled debut LP, released in September 2023, received critical acclaim from Exclaim!, Under the Radar, and Cups & Cakes.
The upcoming White Trash EP delves into Walker’s adolescent struggles, with themes of self-destruction and resentment. Despite lacking the optimism of “HILLSBORO” it offers ceaseless energy and immaculate DIY production.
