A young and very promising band from Cyprus, KAAPER, which officially began its activities in 2024, bursts onto the metal scene with their first full-length album “While Flows The Nile”.

The album was released April 30th 2025 in cooperation of Satanath Records and The End Of Time Records.

An attentive listener, looking at the band’s official social media pages, may discover that all the material for the album – vocals, guitars, drums, and even violin – was recorded at home in an improvised studio. This proves once again that there are no limits to creativity and the desire to share one’s vision with the world. Perhaps the only limit in today’s world is not getting lost among similarly heavy bands and truly managing to maintain one’s identity and signature sound. Let’s see if it worked out for KAAPER.

KAAPER positions itself as Dark Metal,

which is reflected in the themes of the songs and the sound itself. Released their first single, “REIGN!”, just a year ago, Kaaper have earned recognition from heavy music fans and devoted audience.

The album includes 10 songs full with dark and sinister stories of Ancient Egypt. The aesthetic of the “While Flows The Nile” album and the band itself complement each other perfectly, revealing themselves in truly powerful and memorable compositions.
From the moment the opening track erupts, it’s clear that KAAPER aren’t just another dark metal band – they are mythic storytellers where each song feels like a ritual carved into stone, balancing brutality with mysticism.

The lyrical

content itself draws heavily from Egyptian myth: resurrection, divine judgment, and the eternal cycle of death and rebirth. There’s poetry here beneath the rage, a balance between the sacred and the profane.

The guitar play on this record is ferocious yet atmospheric, melodic inserts and cutting vocals only enhance the impression. The riffs are thick and serrated, and even feels ritualistic – a call and response between chaos and control.

The atmosphere is perfectly readable thanks to distinct vocals. The growl is not monotonous and clean passages mostly in every song add a haunting texture.
Each song begins either with melodic keyboard or string inserts, creating a sense of suspense and summoning an atmosphere.

A successful combination of melody and heavier sections, turning the album into a continuous journey rather than a collection of songs. The result is immersive – you can almost feel the heat of the sun over Nile and the cold stillness of a tomb’s interior.
When a band clearly defines a style and narrative philosophy in their songs, on the one hand, it certainly becomes a hallmark and opens up a new world for the listener, especially if you’re interested in ancient history.

On the other hand, there is a danger of remaining within the framework of the chosen topic and having difficulty switching to something else, which greatly limits the field of activity. This makes it even more interesting to observe KAAPER’s creativity and development in the future.

It is reliably known that they are already recording new material for a future album, which is great news, as their active concert activity this year confirms the demand and love of fans to write and perform more songs.

In conclusion, I would like to note that “While Flows The Nile” is complete and finished work. The album is definitely worth your attention and I guarantee that after listening to it you will be humming the catchy melodies to yourself.
